WELCOME TO NOSE TO THE GROUND TO HELP HOUNDS!

Hounds and hound mixes are especially dear to our hearts, and we have created a central site where shelters, prospective adopters, and adopters can find information and resources for these special dogs.

Hounds can be affable, loving family pets as well as avid hunters. It's an amazing thing to hear the baying of a hound following a scent trail and doing what they were bred to do! However, their exceptional sense of smell often leads them into trouble and causes them to be misunderstood.

We hope that the resources on our site will help to keep these wonderful dogs from ending up homeless, and that more dogs will find well-prepared, loving, lifelong homes. Now that is something to bay about!
